In that I agree with you, Lawrence. The people who started paying in in the late '40s were funding their parents benefits and so it has gone on. So, at some point, a generation will pay in and get no return.

Yes, I agree Joe, that's what I was trying to mean in my post.
As regards the high vis jacket brigade in supermarkets all I can say is that not that long ago I was one of them complete with muddy boots and drenched in sweat working hard to feed my family, if that upset someone sipping their coffee in their ivory world then so be it.
