I know you ask the same as me - "WHY do you have to contact the CEO to get anything done properly?" I was with NTL for cable TV from '95 to '95 in a flat I had in Luton (week away from home each week), and they consistently got everything wrong, and took an absolute age to correct things. Even when I left the flat, they chased me for payment despite me closing the account in the correct manner with the requisite notice. Even more crazy, they were chasing me for £1.40/week. In the end, as I was driving past their HQ one day, I nipped in and delivered a "notice of intended action" letter for the attention of their company secretary. I ensured that I had acknowledgement of delivery, as this was the precursor to action for wrongful harassment causing undue distress. My landline at work, mobile and home numbers were on the letter as contact means, as well as my home address and the address of the flat, noting I was no longer there.
That same day, ALL 3 phone numbers were called and action promised in messages left, but they got it completely wrong when they turned up at the door of the flat, asking for me!!!!!!! The new tenant then gave them an earful for not reconnecting the NTL cable TV service she had contracted for some 3 months prior.
The end result was that they gave her immediate service and 12 months free, plus they sent me a cheque for £100 as a payment to cover our distress and a letter of apology from the CEO.
WHY?
