Eventually got round to it. Amazingly, when powered up, no magic smoke escaped - this CRT clock hadn't been used for many years... its a prototype - not a great bit of work... blanking seems to be a bit random... The tube is a DG7-32 - low voltage (by CRT standards), electrostatic deflection and good sensitivity - ideal tube for a CRT clock...
