Hi,
Thanks Lawrence; I believe a contract usually works both ways and Virgin Media broke the contract not us. Bron and I would be hard pressed now to find the original contract signed with NTL not Virgin Media because we think it was about 24 years ago? I would have created a lot of noise before it got to court not after then the public could see what was happening up front?
Colin you are such a gem; I was just about to compose an email to the CEO of Virgin Media which you have just kindly sent me when suddenly I finally received an email from Virgin Media offering an apology saying their engineer will be with us this Friday evening which hopefully saves a lot of friction and silliness?
Hello,
I'm really sorry to hear about the trouble you've had with your phone line.
One of our team will call around to your home to check things out on 14/03/14
between 4-7PM. Please make sure the person who's in is over 18 years old.
If you need to amend or cancel the date or time of your appointment, simply register or sign in to your My Virgin Media account and select Your Appointments.
Alternatively you can call our automated faults service on 150 from your Virgin Media phone or mobile, or on 0845 454 1111* from any other phone and select option 2.
Otherwise, we'll see you soon.
Kind regards,
The Virgin Media team

Almost two weeks of nothing but hassle with Virgin Media and all it would have taken on their part to resolve the problem was to send a similar message much earlier rather than allowing frustration to creep in on my part; I hope we can sort this out amicably as I eventually did with npower and remain on friendly terms but I confess this treatment of us by Virgin Media hasn't gone down too well with us at all.
I will of course keep you posted and once again can only thank you all especially Colin for your generous help and advice; if there had been a better choice of supplier I think Bron and I would have changed because of this trouble.
Kind regards, Col.
