Lithium-ion batteries are the same type as used in mobile phones. They eventually go, but replacements are usually a decent price if you keep off genuine and go for ones that are from Cameron Sino (who actually manufacture for most "brands"). I used to source Li-ion cells from them for a product and they marked them with our company name for us.
