You need to re-size the photo. with your image software app. When I take a photo, I download it from the camera to somewhere convenient on the PC. I then run IrfanView to look at it. Amongst the editing & image-processing option in that app., there is one for re-size (Ctrl-R). I choose 800 x 600 for most things and then store it as as a jpeg. If the resultant size is too big for posting to any particular forum, I then re-open that jpeg and choose a lower resolution. I've never had to go less than 90% - and the resultant image nearly always looks O.K.
