They will scare you into buying a pipe that bypasses the filter as that is what the video was made for.
The filter would have to be refitted for each MOT in order to avoid a failure due to the smoke test.
The smoke test involves sharply increasing the throttle setting while monitoring the exhaust fumes. They are looking for the puff of black smoke it makes during acceleration.
