The largest one I ever saw was a single phase job. It had a height of about 8 inches (not counting the rotary handle) & a diameter of about 12 inches! I can't remember its kVA rating, but it must have been substantial - as must have been the in-rush current at switch-on. And no, I didn't try to pick it up!
I also saw a large 3-phase version (as Jeffrey mentions) in my last employment.
