I've been trying to clear out test equipment with about the same result. Shipping would cost more than the items, so they're not even worth trying to sell, not to mention the trouble to pack safely. I found three collectors who were close enough to drive here and back in one day, and basically said they could have things very cheaply or free if they would take a carload. One of them, a scope collector, was so happy he later mailed me a $50 gift card at the local restaurant.
There's a swap meet in a week and I intend to take at least one very heavy item, a General Radio sweep generator that has been occupying half of my woodworking bench for far too long. That one is not coming back, no matter what I get for it.
