Hi,
It's always the same Refugee when you want something; I've seen 5ltr cans of paint stripper many times at Rufforth Auto Jumble but as soon as I needed a can they all disappeared as if by magic.
I managed a couple of hours in the garage again this morning making more steady progress this time cleaning the head-stock area; most of the dirt and paint was easily removed using a scraper made from an old file; abrasive paper was used next then followed by UPOL pad. I dropped a couple of set screws into the oil cups to keep dirt out. We've nothing planned for tomorrow and over the weekend so with luck I can move this job along.
Benson's contacted me again by email asking if the belts were driven one side only and suggesting leather with a fabric outer and nylon center; samples are going to be sent together with price quotes; I've got a feeling these belts are going to be expensive?
Kind regards, Col.
