I agree about the plastic shafts.
I acquired some mono block amplifiers and the volume pot has a plastic shaft.
It is out of place on an amplifier with a cast aluminum chassis and cabinet.
I did the capacitors with the new slim ones after it started to hum while playing for a couple of hours a day over about 6 weeks.
