OK Guys, I'm out of my domain of little knowledge into the one where i have no knowledge! I've started on the record changer. It's a model REX A made by Perpetuum Ebner, in Germany of course. It seems like this changer was used widely on the export market because I found a complete SAMS guide for it. Alas the SAMS makes no reference to the cartridge - though it goes into great detail about all the other mechanical adjustments.
I took the cartridge out and after cleaning all the gunk out it seems the stylus was still there. It seems to have two 'needle points' on it and there is a mechanism in the headshell to tilt the cartridge. I assumer this is to position the correct 'needle' depending on whether it's a 78 or a 33/45 record being played. Just a guess.
If any of you guys can point me to info on a suitable replacement setup for this I would be most grateful.
