Interesting young Col. I have two cheapo Digital Verniers, invented incidentally by Moore & Wright, which show exactly the same symtoms as yours. It doesn't matter of course if you use the same one all the time for one job 'cause the parts will still fit. I also have a couple of real M&W Micrometers and a couple of conventional, or should I say Analogue, Verniers and a Height Gauge. They're accurate.
