True, but I'd place more confidence in them that decades old stuff.
And the quest for mustard caps has little or anything to do with reliability - it's their alleged mystical quality of the 'mellow tone' they uniquely provide, or so the story goes. Oh well, a fool and his money are soon parted and it's not for me to lecture others on how they should squander their dosh. What I cant get my head round is that those who yearn for Mustard caps (including someone elsewhere who says he wants to 'fully refurbish a classic amp' but 'doesn't want to pay fancy e-bay prices' - ie, the market price), want mustard caps to replace existing ones that are probably perfectly OK and haven't in any way been tested. And he wants to do this to 'preserve their originality'. Erm, it is original but won't be if he swaps the caps.
