Almost 5 years without telly and we are not missing it at all.
The adverts got very bad and Freeview boxes got dodgy with a delay built into the mute button so that programs could not be watched once someone has gone to bed due to the sound boosted adverts.
The mute button often used to make it jump to another channel when it was pressed and when that happened it was always a channel with yet more adverts.
I have a prized rusty satellite dish to show off to the licensing guys when they turn up.
Reliability is one of the issues that have led me to get rid of the TV. Functionality of equipment and excess adverts have contributed to this.
I will just wait until they produce reliable sets with the speech and sound effects on user operated faders so that documentaries can be watched without intrusive elevator music playing.
