I used to get EE (before the merger with PE, giving EPE) and it was a good little magazine. i stopped around 1982 when they started introducing computer-based projects.

I'm not in a position to comment on accuracy etc, as these days I may get one copy every couple of years. However, availability of simple microcontrollers such as the PIC series has opened up another dimension in digital electronics.
Granted, programming of PICs isn't electronics, it's another discipline again, but it does allow a big simplification in the operation of many sequence-based projects. I reckon these devices have an important place within a properly engineered piece of electronic circuitry.
I'm thinking in the early days of PW, F J Camm always tried to give his readers the opportunity to try up-to-date techniques - screen-grid valves, class B push-pull, superhets, etc while other magazines were a couple of years behind. It worked.
