Is this a new twist on expiring after warranty is out?

11 years ago I bought a new Skoda Octavia 4x4. Looking underneath all the 4x4 transmission parts had the Audi 4 rings all over them. Out of interest I priced up an equivalent Audi which was about £6000 more than the Octavia.

I'm now on my 3rd Skoda (4th if you include my wifes car) and all have been by far the most complex but most reliable cars we've ever owned.
