Sorry to disagree on Honda - I took delivery of a new Honda Jazz on 28th September this year and, within a week, all sorts of faults surfaced. I mean major faults too. After trying to get Honda to acknowledge the extremely poor build and take it back to Swindon for rectification, both we and the dealer (franchised and official) rejected the vehicle with a lawyer "delivering" the rejection brief with an expert's report. The vehicle was taken back soon after that letter and we were reimbursed in full, plus an ex-gratia payment on top. I am now the owner of a Skoda Roomster that, so far, is fault-free and a pleasure to drive.
BTW - Skoda is part of the Volkswagen Audi Group and the engine and DSG gearbox are built in the Volkswagen engine factory in Germany. The Roomster is built on the Audi A4 platform with minor modifications.
You pay your money, and have to cross your fingers - you never know the product reputation very well until yours goes wrong.
