ACM is just an abbreviation for the Chinese term for 0V and that is the way it is marked up.
No, I'm not confused, I understand the difference between a common signal rail that is connected to earth ie: an isolated transformer mains radio, record player etc,
and one that is floating above any external earth ie:TV chassis were the chassis is at half or possibly full mains potential above an external earth etc, hence my previous post.
I was playing on the side of caution ie: if the potential at the V and Vin terminals on the VFD board is significantly high with respect to a PME connected to the insallation then any screened cable should be adequately rated in terms of insulation breakdown if the screens were to be connected to that PME.
As to weather the screens should be connected to the PME or the ACM terminal that's another matter.
