When I first saw all these horizontal aerials going up I thought they've got it wrong as they are pointing towards the Halifax relay. However on looking at the service area for the main transmitter it looks as if there is a possibility to receive signals from Emley Moor which would mean the aerials pointing slightly to the east of the Halifax transmitter.
In that area there are both horizontal and vertical aerials so either the installers have attempted to pick up Emley Moor or have thought "It's a TV aerial, All aerials are horizontal" and pointed it at the nearest transmitter, Halifax, which is visible in that area.
The pictures show the terrain from the approximate location to Emley Moor and Halifax plus the predicted service area for Emley which shows the Boothtown area as no service from Emley. These are taken from the UKfree TV website which is a useful source of information.
