Our microwave gets used several times a day, porridge, home made soup for lunch (with home made bread of course) and all sorts of veg. gets done in it for evening meals (streamer bags I believe but very nice veg).
As to not using the dishwasher that's odd to us. Ours go on at the end of the day, every day, and that's even if we don't have visitors or people to dinner. We have enough crocks to put in it as we go along and my wife is certainly not a one pot chef. One of her interests is cooking and baking so it always fills. Almost nothing comes out of a packet here ...
Yes! I'm lucky but you are what you eat and its certainly true for me being lactose (all dairy products) intolerant and now soya and egg intolerant. Its useful that there is an egg replacer for baking.
And no one washes up better than a dishwasher, everything comes out like new particularly glass ware. It fills during the day, goes on in the evening and I empty it at breakfast. Apparently it uses less water than hand washing up as well.
To me its far preferable to continuous hand washing and, when we got one, it was just a new method of working that once used to comes naturally. Maybe they put in a 6ocm wide one for your house and that can be a bit intimidating for 2 people, a 50cm slim line one is probably better.
They are useful for the odd radio part as well
But after 23 years I guess you are to old a dog to learn a new way, if it still works !!
