Regarding micro wave transformer, one side of the secondary is attached to the earth/laminations, now if that is lifted and many turns are removed there the basis for a very good isolating transformer. As before, when the earthed connection is lifted and the transformer worked in reverse, one has good low voltage transformer with about 23 volts output. I have warmed up a transformer to soften the varnish and have removed some turns so that the output was 17 volts for a battery charger.If the low 5 volt voltage winding is removed then there is space to fit extra turns making a good 30 volt for 24 volt charger. To good to throw away.Ted
