I came across this £5 power supply at a car boot during the summer. Thought I might share it with you.
Im sure I have seen this type in the past but im struggling to recall where.
The transformer primary has various tappings 5, 10, 108, 116, 200, 240, the secondary has 330-0-330, 2 x 6.3, 5
The full wave rectifier is CV1863 (heater from the 5v tap)
All the tappings primary, secondary, and the output go via a multi block connector
Initially when I powered this up I had no output through the connector. I finally realised the 330-0-330 centre tap wasn’t grounded (probably done through an external switch?). Once sorted I had an unloaded output of 475 volts
Havent used the supply loaded as yet. The CV1863 has a rectified output of 125ma – so I will work out something suitable to test it
