That's great info, but without the Cap and some kind of Diode(I've been trying a small zener) it seems a no go! I get some life/result when I attach the Cap & Diode across Posts 1 & 3 on the top Pot!! But the signal just drops outa sight & requires full Intensity.
I gotta say Thanks to all these replies, its pretty impressive, and a Big Thanks to Ted for passing the prob along.
p.s. the sheathed resister straddling both Pots works fine. Good job the CRT has some shielding cos that Poly Cap went off like a cracker!
