You've done very well in repairing that item: clearly, a great deal of patience, perseverance and persistence was required: so, well done. For myself, along with performance and appearance, I place maintenance (ease of) as an equally important feature of any design - which that product clearly fails miserably on. And I now know of another product to stay well clear of when it comes to buying second-hand / surplus kit: thanks for the report.
