I haven't got around to looking at the Chinese offerings yet, but the SBL1 type road could be interesting.
I might knock one up with 4 diodes and some ferrite beads, I think I've got an 8MHz Xtal or maybe a 10MHz dil package Xtal osc if It hasn't been chucked out. I'll build it into my charger base, use the same PSU and put some sort of antenna coupler in the base as well.
