Very swish young Col, and yes I am a big fan of 'Mushroom-headed Stop Buttons' within easy reach. You just never know when you'll need it.
Perhaps you should Post a Diagram for posterity.
The usual way to seal the Door is to put a strip of Double-sided Foam Tape round the edge and then screw it down.
Poor VFD, he's all shut in. You should have made a little window
