I've used the powered types like the Racal Airstream Visor and other similar types, if I was doing a lot then that would be my choice, a good one is light and comfortable etc.
Bog standard fitted face masks are a pain, especially in hot weather.
The full cartridge face masks are also a pain in hot weather....but....different cartridges are available to keep out most of the nasty stuff.
