In my opinion and I have done a whole conservatory now (or will have when the next 5 units come this week) the exclusion of moisture and soaking up the residual with the silica gel in the spacer and then the gas is essential. Other wise why did the W ones all eventually mist up? I can tell you silica gel on its own eventually gives up. If the seal breaks down only a little then moisture can be sucked in by heating and cooling, straight condensation. Then eventually the silica gel cant take anymore moisture vapour and so it goes on the glass. Some of mine, as said before, would dry out from time to time but there was always water marks. A lot to condense here as the windows on the W side bake and then cool, probably a very big temp change on days like this.
You say some of yours are misted up so to me that proves the point!
Yep! Lawrence, my panels are all spaced off the mahog surround and have water channels to the outside but I don't think any water gets in there. Well, only when I have left changing the panels for too long. Then believe it or not the condensation that forms in the panels can find a way out and that will cause rot.
Enough ... Gary
