Mornin all.
I've checked the position of C518 and it is indeed where the Diagram says it is. I've changed it. I admit I still don't understand its function.
I agree that (excessive) Secondary loading may kill the Oscillator. It shouldn't be too difficult to disconnect things.
I'm still dubious about the 1n across the Primary. The 'old' EHT generator - see attached - which is different, had 10n across the Primary. Could things really have changed by a factor of ten?
I've no reason to believe there's a problem with C503, but I'll check/change it.
