Fenman IIs have much more conventional knobs. I've got a I in the shed so I really should try to catch up with you.

I think the Fenman II is more highly regarded than the Fenman 1 Alan.
I thought I'd have to replace the speaker grille as it was in such a sorry state, but it came up like new after soaking in Poundland 'Wizz' Oxy fabric stain remover as per the attached pic. The fabric easily came off the baffle board, and I fixed it back onto the board with 'Stuk' rapid spray glue. Best adhesive I've found for sticking speaker fabric. It's clear, the nozzle can be adjusted it has quick 'grab' time but allows you time to stretch the fabric, then I staple it in place with a staple gun. Far better than Copydex for example.
