also seen at auction tonight - a large scrolling lessage display (approx. 5 foot x 3 foot)made of a large matrix of red LEDs. Powered up and went through.... RAM check Ok, PROM check Ok and then flashed a few patterns and finally a black (blank) screen.
No maker's name, standard mains power connecter, 9-pin D connector (RS232?) and a full height 3.5 inch floppy disc built into one side. Two large eyelets along the top for hanging it from something.
Also, a smaller single line message display with mains connector and 9-way D connector... perhaps to connect to the main display. No other connectors or orifices.
Not sold.
