Just in case anyone was wondering . . . . having noticed a recent spate of vintage adverts that I am sending in . . . and wondering "Why?"
The sources are various magazines that I anticipate parting company with soon. On account of the age of those sources - and the adverts therein - I do believe that when I have parted company with these magazines, there is a good chance that they will end up as recycled paper. Thus the adverts will be gone for ever - and I doubt if those ads. will see the light of day again - from any source.
In addition to that practical consideration, the period covered by those ads. is a period when the British electronics industry was at - or rapidly approaching - its zenith in terms of creativity in electronic engineering. Thus it seems appropriate to save these images in a reliable and safe depository - where they can be shared by all - including some of the nostalgia that they produce.
