Next, the pendulum was assembled from the various parts. Thankfully, I have another of these clocks (different design, but the same pendulum arrangement) so it all went together nicely. I extracted the two halves of the broken suspension spring and fitted a new one. The pendulm was then fitted to the frame and secured with the transit screw. The pair of formers were identified; the one on the left carries the coil, the other a damping ring to prevent pendulum overswing. The formers were fitted to the framework, passing over the ends of the pendulum magnet before being loosely secured. The covers were not fitted at this time.
