The toothbrush charger was what got me started on this along with the desire to not make any holes in the radio. The only option appeared to be using the handle as one connection and the speaker grill as the other one or even the antenna but it all seemed very messy. It would be much better to be able to put the radio on a sort of docking station where the batteries would be charged and / or the radio power would be supplied. removing the radio to the garden would mean that only battery power would be available. Power transmission would be limited to a range of 1 to 2 cm.

I looked at the attachments and comments etc, there are more questions than answers!!
I will knock up a push/pull type of TX with Mosfets, Rx will have an identical Coil/cap to be in roughly the right ballpark re resonance. I have all the bits, I just have to do a bit of painting on the house so it will be later in the week before I can give it a go.
