Oh dear, Col. You do suffer for your art. Still, fixing your speed controller will be an interesting project in itself.
I had problems yesterday when my four-jaw chuck refused to knock off. I ended-up putting the Jacob's that so I could finish what I was doing. I shifted it today thanks to a foot length of beach and a lump hammer.
It was dull and miserable here first thing but had brightened-up by dinner-time and I'd got the heating and my jumper off and my sleeves rolled up. It went downhill again about five o'clock though. At least it's a good excuse to not cut the grass or do anything else outside.
