If your bandwidth is only 500 kHz, I think that you will find that there will be nothing to choose between a SLF law and a SLW law. And that could be very handy, since (in my experience) SLW variable caps. are far more common than the SLF type. And in connection with that, I have assembled a 'test rig' for measurement of a single-gang SLW variable (nominal 500 pF). As soon as I can find the time, I intend to make some measurements to determine how that law is affected as I introduce, and change the value of, a series padding capacitor. It will be interesting to see how the practical results match the theoretical ones. (As most of us have found, they usually don't!
