Had a poke about in the garage - it's about all I'm up to at the moment.
I found a couple of old Variable Condensers with longish thin vanes - see attached.
The single one is (about) 20pF - 560pF and the Double - each Section - 40pF 580pF.
I suppose I should plot the law.
