Not so for me.
Price of ink and "liquid gold", well most put cheapo refill cartridges in so that for them isn't true either.
Even if you buy the proper cartridges how much does a colour print cost? Not much compared to a beer! (Yeah! I know some don't touch the stuff!).
100 quid - 6 for postage for an all in one, cheap as chips... How can they survive? with most putting in refills !!
Back 20 odd years ago I used to service and repair HP Laser Jet printers (Mk 1, 2, 3, 4 etc) built on die cast chassis and with discrete replaceable components. I could keep them gong with some spares year in year out. Actually took a MK 1 or 2 to the tip, still wkg fine but it was likely to give me a hernia! What did they cost? I don't know but certainly thousands !!
Didn't matter about the cost of cartridges: no home user could justify buying one. I only got mine when they changed over to later stuff.
