I have a 'set carrier' meter in front of me, salvaged from an old TF144G (the 'coffin'): it is a conventional moving coil meter. The dial plate states: "M.I. Ltd.; model no. 23; ext. L. junction; serial number is 707829". The generator used a separate thermo-couple that was piece-and-part of the O/P attenuator.
Anyone here know the significance of the 'L' in "ext. L. junction" ?
