Ages ago I acquired a random equipment box containing various spurious components. Didn't have the time to investigate further until today and have just stripped it down.
It was some sort of custom built power unit for an unknown lab experiment of some description, so of no use in the form I acquired it.
However, it contained some nice bits which should be useful at some time in the future, well, we always say that don't we.
Best bits are :-
A very nice, high spec mains filter unit by Schaffner, will handle upto 20 amps !! That will be used on my bench mains supply, so useful already !
A superb high quality mains transformer, with 2x21 & 24 volt secondaries at 10 amps. Would cost a fortune now.
A smaller mains transformer, with 2 x 20 volt secondaries, probably about 2 amps each.
Then 5 IEC chassis mount mains sockets, various indicator lamps, a heavy duty relay, couple of fuse holders and a handful of nuts & bolts for the bits box !
So a nice haul for next to nothing ! :D Just wish I could find more stuff like it !
