Capacitors, charge and energy: a question

Kalee20 - again, thank you for your contribution, but to try to bring this matter to a conclusion, I must ask you this: you state that half of the energy is lost: where has it gone?

It's converted to heat. . . . . the other 25µJ is lost as heat in the resistor.

Resistor? What resistor?
In my initial post, where I outlined the hypothetical ideal situation and the associated fundamental equations applicable to that situation, all resistances were zero.
