Many thanks David. I do enjoy using "emachineshop" Cad and as you kindly say David I can now draw both in 2D and 3D using this program.

You've a good memory David and a lot of discussion took place on the above thread regarding various CAD programs. At that time I was still very much a CAD novice struggling with basics; I even bought TurboCad but failed miserably with this as I couldn't even suss out how to size the page?
You are correct David; it was Nick who suggested SolidEdge 2D free and this is in post#2 at the above link. Again I could not use this program but Nick did state SolidEdge wasn't really a program for a novice.
Big Al in post #3 kindly suggested another free program this being "Draftsight".
Last night I tried to download SolidEdge but with a download time shown as 42 minutes I quit and went to bed. Today I've downloaded SolidEdge in 15 minutes and been kicking it around a bit.
For good measure I've also just downloaded Draftsight. This was a rapid download and again I've been kicking it around; you say Alan that Draftsight is compatible with Autocad; I just hope its compatible with my head?
Having gained some experience using EMS CAD I'm now in with a good chance of understanding both these two programs so I'll play around with each rather than go sledging?
The two new bearings and ten circlips arrived at dinner time today so hopefully once I can stand in the garage at the lathe without ending up as a frozen statue I'll get cracking and make this new clutch; in the meantime I've got plenty of CAD programs to occupy my time.
