Hi,
Well said Lawrence and oh so true.
This weather could really depress me; I got out of bed again this morning to be greeted by more heavy snow as seen in the picture; it's now snow showers and not settling.
Pleasant outlook.
In order to measure the belt with my digital vernier calipers; put on hat; coat and shoes; get snowed on as I visit the garage to collect the calipers; get snowed on again returning to the bungalow; remove hat; coat and shoes; collect belt from freezing workshop and bring both belt and calipers into warm hall I use as my office. Clean my spectacles because I don't like looking at lots of stars.
I then spent the morning using EMS CAD to adjust the clutch drawing against the belt measurements.
I'm unable to make the clutch but I've beaten the weather; I printed off the clutch drawings; one with the clutch open the other with the clutch closed. Bron kindly gave me some of her stiff card and double sided tape then in true Blue Peter fashion I attached the drawings to the card using the tape and very carefully cut out the card templates.
Test cards.
I could now try the test cards for fit against the belt and it would appear this simple test shows the clutch will work? The two pictures show the belt roughly in position on each test card; in the closed position the clutch drives; not the best of pictures but they give the general idea.
If ever I can work on the lathe this project is at the top of the list; I can now settle down and start to design the linkage.
Kind regards, Col.
Clutch closed and open.

Happiness is a wreck of a cabinet to restore.
