For the few that I need, I tend to buy the 2 Watt metal film ones sold by Spiratronics. Mostly it isn't the wattage that matters, but getting something that looks similar in physical size to the old carbon composition resistors in old radios, which were mostly 0.5 Watt, 1 Watt or ocasionally 2 Watt.

I've also used Savoy Hill quite a lot over the years for caps and resistors as they try to give a service to UK restorers and that's all they do.
