Fuse PS1 on the YC-25 board was O.K.: approx. 8½ volts on each side.
However, something interesting has come to light. I now find that with the machine in the horizontal (normal) position, although the tape now winds into the cassette without the tape ballooning out and the mechanism stopping, (I didn't do anything to make it change its behaviour!), it continues to play - although there is a tendency for a smaller amount of tape to balloon out - but this 'surplus tape' gets rapidly taken up and into the cassette. And it continues like that, without stopping. However, when the machine is operated standing vertically on its left-hand side, the ballooning fails to occur. Now I'm hoping that those with 'the knowledge', at this point will say something like "Ah-Ha! That's because of . . . . "
