Traffic lights on roundabouts poll

I always liked the system we had in Quito. The local authorities ran out of money when putting traffic lights up at junctions in the city, so they just hung then in blocks of 4 from crossed wires above the centre of the junction.

Unfortunately, they then just spun round changing as they rotated, but no-body cared as no-one ever paid any attention to traffic signals anyway...

Traffic signals are often put in for reasons other than driver convenience.
