Hi,
I'm certainly no expert on computers and this Win7 64bit is now driving me round the bend.
Previously I've used other operating systems without the slightest trouble and my last computer was running XP Home edition.
I've already posted my problems with Snap.Do hi-jacking my Google Chrome ending up with me wiping the hard drive to completely clear it after firstly suffering lots of frustration.
A couple of days ago having finally got the computer settled and running very well I decided to download Gimp which I've previously used for years without problems; I followed the usual download procedure but it simply refused to load? I gave up but then decided to try Joe's kind suggestion of using PDFill but after a lot of playing around I gave up and switched off. At next boot up Snap.do was laughing at me once again and I was not not amused. Rather than spend hours playing around trying to remove Snap.do I wiped the hard drive again so now I've got the computer up and running once again.
This morning I've tried to install Gimp once again but it refuses and a box pops up saying the location is not recognized but do I want to continue anyway; no I don't because I tried this and got the run around which might possibly account for the second Snap.do invasion.
I've just browsed the web and I'm not sure if Gimp is available for Win7 64bit?

Following John's kind suggestion I then thought I'd try Microsoft Picture It? Having problems once again I browsed the web and found;
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...10b3658832
I bought this new much faster computer with a decent graphics card upgrading to Win7 64bit expecting it to be a huge improvement over my old slower computer running XP; so far I simply cannot settle with it; Programs are suddenly becoming more difficult if not impossible to download and even though I was extremely diligent Snap.Do got in twice to really upset me.
I know I'm no computer wiz kid but this is becoming ridiculous I can't even load Nero which I've used for many years because Nero are demanding paying for an upgrade to Win7? Normally my biggest moan is about our dire weather but at the moment Win7 is running a close second.
This week has been terrible because of computer problems; I admitted it was my fault Snap.Do invaded in the first place but a second invasion?
I've got automatic updates activated so why when I checked for updates this morning it found 15 important updates which seemed to take forever to load? The picture below shows the last update scan and only a short while later (09.38) I was adding the 15 updates including Windows (Malicious Software Removal Tool).
The reason I checked for updates is because with XP I had to download Service Packs 2 & 3 so I wondered by not having these installed I was experiencing so many difficulties; when I browsed the web for the service packs I was directed to Windows Updates on my computer hence I found the 15 updates I downloaded but still no service packs appear in control panel/programs?
Although at the moment I'm fed up spending so much time on the computer and wasting my time getting nowhere I truly appreciate all your help; usually I have lots of patience but Win7 isn't working for me at the moment in fact it appears to be working against me.
I bought this new computer because I was having problems with EMS CAD and the old graphics expecting a vast improvement but here I am still unable to work with EMS CAD as I would like to; perhaps I'm mostly to blame but I'm experiencing lots of computer problems I never previously experienced; perhaps I should revert to XP?
Kind regards, Col.
