Hi,
Thank you Gary for adding the "Malwaretips" link; I've spent a while reading it and it should remove Snap.do but what a palaver to go through; obviously the best thing is not to be fooled into accepting Snap.do in the first place.
This link is very good and understands exactly the problems I experienced with Snap.do. I could not find the program on my computer so I couldn't delete it; it didn't show up in control panel but Malwaretips suggests it could be listed under a different name but one very useful tip which had not occurred to me is to check recently installed programs and if one is spotted that is not recognized then in this instance it could well be Snap.do hiding under a different name? I'll remember this valuable tip for future reference.
A bit late for me Gary but your information is much appreciated and perhaps other members will advise of any such malicious programs in future; forewarned is forearmed and the best experts can be caught out?
I'm glad to be Snap.do free at last it's been a lot of trouble to me.
I think we all have our favourite browsers Gary and once we are settled never consider changing. When I bookmark favourites accessing them using Chrome is rapid.
For many years I've downloaded free videos and movies; the first ones used to download very slowly indeed but using my previous computer speeds of up to 1.1Mb/sec could be reached which I thought to be brilliant; This new computer is greased lighting by comparison; I've seen it top out at 2.4Mb/sec. I can also burn up to six movies onto a single DVD in less than ten minutes. I'm simply comparing my old and new computers so don't want to open up a debate on where I obtain the free downloads in fact I'll never add this on a forum but for anyone interested please PM me and I'll be happy to pass on the details. Copy-write could be an issue so these sites need keeping off this open forum even if they are readily and freely available on the web; as I say I'm merely comparing speed.
Kind regards, Col.
