Yes! without doubt Op. Drumbeat is the best WW2 Sub book. I think books such as that, that tell the story of one boat such as this come off best.
Another excellent sub autobiography is "Silent Running" by James F Calvert and how he joined the US sub service, served in the Pacific during WW2 and rose to high rank. Most interesting was the computer detail used to set the torpedeos.
